SFB 1381 PIs Sonja-Verena Albers (Project A01) and Oliver Einsle (Project A04) both received a ERC (European Research Council) Advanced Grant. Sonja receives two and a half million Euro for her project “ARCHCELLORG – Organization of the Archaeal Cell” and Olivers project “GOFIXIT- Harnessing the Catalytic Potential of Nitrogenases” has been founded with around three million Euro.
The ERC Advanced grants are among the EU’s most prestigious and competitive funding opportunities, providing leading senior researchers with the opportunity to pursue ambitious, curiosity-driven projects that could lead to major scientific breakthroughs. The new grants, worth in total nearly €652 million, were awarded to 255 outstanding research leaders in Europe.
