On May 5th, 2021 SFB 1381 PI Nora Vögtle took part in the Scientific Career Symposium “The Academic Road: Science, Insights and Tips from Research Leaders”, organized by the Career Network of the Max Planck Institute for Biology of Ageing, Cologne. The aim of the event was to inspire young scientists to pursue an academic career, to present possible academic career opportunities and to introduce research related to the field of biology of aging.
In this online-event, seven speakers from various European universities with different academic career paths introduced the audience to both their research and to their careers in short talks. They discussed their careers and research in a panel discussion in which questions from the audience were also answered. Furthermore, members of the audience were given the opportunity to network and meet the speakers in breakout rooms.
Nora Vögtle gave a talk on “Cellular responses to mitochondrial proteotoxic stress”. The audience showed a lot of interest in both her research and her achievements.
