On March 27-28, 2025, the SFB 1381 hosted a workshop titled “Cross-linking as a tool for analyzing protein machineries.”
On the first day, Robert K. Njenga from project B06 kicked off with a general introduction to chemical cross-linking. Later in the afternoon, Yavuz Öztürk (also from B06) demonstrated how to select site-directed cross-linkers using the AI system AlphaFold. On the second day, Friedel Drepper from the central project Z01 provided an overview of how to combine cross-linking with mass spectrometry analysis.
Throughout the workshop, there were engaging discussions, and participants left with new insights into how cross-linking methods can be applied to study their protein machineries.
A big thank you to Robert, Yavuz, and Friedel!
