SFB 1381 Retreat 2024

Apr 08, 2024

The annual retreat of the SFB 1381 took place in Schluchsee on April 8/9 2024.

66 project members participated at the retreat, which focused on the research happening in the seconding funding phase. On the first day, the principal investigators shared the current status of their projects and gave an overview over the future directions, always highlighting the collaborations inside the SFB. Intense dicussions followed the talks and were continued in the breaks. In the evening, postdoctoral researcher and graduate students presented their work in a very lively poster session and the poster committee had a hard job to select the two posters which were awarded with prizes.

On the second day, scientific talks continued, but also topics beyond research were debated: in a rotating discussion session the participants talked about three different important subjects: (1) the SFB 1381 presence in Social Media, (2) diversity and (unconscious) bias and (3) publication in profit vs. non-profit journals.

All members clearly enjoyed the personal debates that had fallen short during the first funding period due to the pandemic and are looking forward to further collaborate inside the project and to work together to reach the goals of the SFB 1381.

Thanks to all participants for making this event a great success!
