The FEBS | EMBO Women in Science Award recognizes female scientists not only for major and recent achievements in the life sciences made in Europe, but also for being an inspiring role model for women in science. Asifa Akhtar, SFB 1381 vice-speaker and B03 project leader, receives the award for her groundbreaking research in epigenetic regulation and for her engagement regarding gender equality and equal opportunities in science.
